Exit Counseling Email
The following email was sent to all students who have federal loans and are graduating this spring or summer semester.
Dear Student,
Greetings from the Office of Financial Aid.
I am contacting you today because as a matter of record and compliance, we are required to provide you with the following information regarding "Exit Counseling" at the university. Please read this entire message carefully.
If during your tenure at IIT, you received federal student loan funds, you are required by federal law to complete exit counseling prior to leaving the university. The purpose of exit counseling is to provide you with important information regarding debt-management strategies and loan repayment, including deferments, grace periods, loan consolidation, and loan default.
The Office of Financial Aid will be conducting two live exit counseling sessions this week that will satisfy this federal requirement:
| Tuesday, May 5, 2009 | Wednesday, May 6, 2009 |
| Siegel Hall, Room 118 (Auditorium) | Siegel Hall, Room 118 (Auditorium) |
| 1 pm - 1:45 pm | 1 pm - 1:45 pm |
Please make sure to bring the names, addresses and phone numbers of two references to the exit counseling session. Please note that the references you provide cannot reside at the same address where you reside.
If you are unable to attend either of these live sessions, you must complete your exit counseling online prior to graduation. You may do so at mappingyourfuture.org/sx.
If you have any questions or want to discuss your loan repayment options further, please visit our office in Room 104 of Main Building to speak with a financial aid counselor. Specific questions regarding exit counseling can be directed to Kelli Goers, Federal Compliance Officer and Assistant Director of Financial Aid, at goersk@iit.edu or 312.567.5724.
We wish you the very best.
Sincerely,
Gerald P. Doyle
