      Research Facilities:

The Downtown Campus Libraries contain more than 510,000 volumes and include four libraries: Chicago-Kent Law Library, Library of International Relations (LIR), Stuart Business Library, and Center for Law & Financial Markets Library. The LIR contains a diverse collection of international reference materials in history, economics and business, as well as law, and important collections of documents of the European Union, the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the Organization of American States, and the World Health Organization. The library receives current periodicals from more than 100 countries, and its resources provide the basis for the law school's growing international law program. The library seats more than 500 and contains several computer classrooms, copier rooms, microform facilities and small-group study rooms. Seating throughout the library provides access to all of the network computer facilities, including on-line research systems both remote (e.g., LEXIS/NEXIS and Westlaw and numerous other subscription databases in law and business) and internal, such as Web-based interactive tutorials, computer-assisted legal instruction, productivity tools, and electronic mail.

Throughout Chicago-Kent's building runs a sophisticated computer network that is easily the most technologically advanced of any law school in the nation. Everything is interconnected. Seats in most classrooms, the library and numerous locations throughout the building are tied to the computer network. The law school's three computer laboratory classrooms contain a number of personal computers, reserved for law student use, connected to a local area network. The network allows students 24- hour access to the World Wide Web, legal databases of LEXIS/NEXIS and Westlaw, and on-line registration and grading systems. Students with their own laptop computers are able to connect into the network at various points throughout the building.
