In the mean time, please fill out and submit this form if you are interested in applying for 2012-2013 Room and Board. We will hold your request to apply for housing, and we will email you as soon as the 2012-2013 Room and Board contract is posted on www.myroom.iit.edu.

Gunsaulus Hall, McCormick Student Village and State Street Village will remain open during the winter break vacation period for 2011-2012. Move in day for all buildings is 9am on Friday, August 19, 2011, and move out day is Sunday, May 6, 2012.

2011-2012 Available Rooms for Returning Residents
Room Reservation 2011 begins March 7. Pre-payment of $600 must be made between January 25-March 3, 2011. A pre-payment is required of all returning residents to participate in Room Reservation 2011.
Students are welcome to make the prepayment after March 3, but may not be able to participate in the online process beginning March 7. Students should expect for a 3-business day processing time for online Room Reservation participation.
To make your prepayment, log onto myiit.edu. Once logged into the portal, do the following:
1. Click on the Finance tab.
2. Under My Account, select spring 2011.
3. At the bottom of the term page, click Manage My Account.
4. On the next page, click Manage My Account again.
5. You will now be redirected to the TouchNet system to enter your payment; please select the Deposit tab.
6. Where it says “Select Term to Make Payment”, select Fall 2011.
7. Under Make A Deposit Payment, select Housing Deposit.
8. Enter the payment amount ($600).
9. Click on Make Deposit Payment.
10. Once you click on Make Deposit Payment, you will be directed to a page to enter your credit card information for payment.
Shimer College and Vandercook residents are not required to make a pre-payment. IIT students can make the pre-payment online, or may make the payment in the Residence and Greek Life office.
Students whom make a pre-payment but do not select a room, will be refunded the prepayment up to May 1, 2011. Pre-payments will only be refunded for students whom do not participant in the room reservation process. Refunded will be made to the students account at myiit.edu.
Prepayment Plans & Waivers:
For students with demonstrated financial need, payment plans are available. Submit your request for a Prepayment Plan or Waiver online.

Student Billing:
IIT students will be billed through their student account with the Office of the Bursar.
Shimer College and Vandercook College of Music will be billed and can make payments to their applicable college tuition office.
Financial Considerations:
Residence and Greek Life provides a variety of room and meal plan options. Each option is available at a unique rate.
Illinois Institute of Technology recognizes paying for a high-quality education is a primary concern for students and their families. Providing accurate and timely room and board rates is important to Residence and Greek Life and Financial Aid.
When making decisions about room and board plans, please keep your Financial Aid award package in mind. Standard award packages are based off of the costs of a double occupancy McCormick Student Village room and the 14-Plus meal plan.
If you are utilizing Federal Financial Aid to cover some or all of your room and board charges, please contact the Office of Financial Aid to determine how your room and meal selection affects your out of pocket expenses. January 25-March 2: Open period to make $600 pre-payment through online at: myiit.edu. All payments must be made by 5:00pm on March 2 to participate in online Room Reservation. Easy prepayment terms are available.
March 7: Squatter’s Rights occurs March 7 from 9:00am to midnight. This period is dedicated to students whom would like to reserve his/her current room for 2011-2012. To squat your room, it must be available to your class level in Fall 2011 (ie a sophomore cannot squat a space designated for Fall 2011 Freshman class). Squatting is only available on March 7 from 9am to midnight. Current roommates have equal opportunity to squat the current room and pull in a roommate; this process is first-come first served. Online reservation opens at myroom.iit.edu at 9am.
March 9: Start of open period for seniors and graduate students to select rooms and meal plans. Online reservation opens at myroom.iit.edu at 9am.
March 10: Start of open period for juniors students to select rooms and meal plans. Online reservation opens at myroom.iit.edu at 9am.
March 11: Start of open period for sophomores students to select rooms and meal plans. Online reservation opens at myroom.iit.edu at 9am.
March 12: Start of open period for all students to select rooms and meal plans. Online reservation opens at myroom.iit.edu at 9am.
March 31: Last day for preferred roommates for confirm spaces (if selected by another resident). Roommates whom do not confirm their assignment by March 31, will lose the preferred space. Online holds for preferred roommates closes at 5pm.
Students who would like to reserve a room for 2011-2012 but fail to do so during the priority period between March 7 to May 1 period, will be assigned a housing assignment on a first come-first served basis.
Room Reservation is available according to your class level, which is determined by the number of tentative credit hours at the conclusion of Spring 2011. During the Room Reservation process you will be able to select your exact room and preferred meal plan.
MSV offers many double occupancy standard double rooms. You might also be interested in a single (3rd floor of Graduate Hall in MSV) or double deluxe (just 4 available in MSV) or a Fowler single or double room. Participation in the Create Your Own, 14-Plus or Unlimited meal plan is required (see exceptions listed on the 2011-2012 Room and Board Rate sheet).
Academic year contracts are available in all buildings and floors; in addition annual (12-month) contracts are available in Fowler 3 (male) and Fowler 4 (female).
Live in the Helmet Jung designed State Street Village! SSV offers many options including semi-suites, studios and 2, 3 or 6-bedroom apartments. Participation in the Create Your Own, 14-Plus or Unlimited meal plan is required (see exceptions listed on the 2011-2012 Room and Board Rate sheet).
Academic year contracts are available in all buildings and floors; in addition annual (12-month) contracts are available in all SSV studio apartments and SSV South 3 & 5.
Most exciting are new apartment options for Juniors and Seniors in Gunsaulus Hall. These fully-furnished studio, 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom apartments are an exciting options. You will surely enjoy the new furniture, new elevators and front desk services in Gunsaulus Hall. A meal plan is not required in Gunsaulus Hall, however, it is available upon request. (Note: Meal plan is required for Shimer 1st year students.)
Residence and Greek Life offers unique living environments through the theme communities program. Residents who choose to live in theme communities will benefit from building close relationships with other residents who share similar interests. Residents will have opportunities to develop leadership skills through active participation in the community.
By selecting a room in the designated community, residents who agree to the expectations may participate in the service learning or recreation and wellness theme communities. Returning residents may participate in any of the theme community offerings by reserving a room on the designated residence hall floor.
Service Learning – The Service Learning community will be housed in East Hall 3rd floor.
Recreation and Wellness – The Recreation and Wellness community will be housed in East Hall 2nd floor.
Global Village – The Global Village community will be housed in Gunsaulus Hall 1st Floor.
Sustainable Living – The Sustainable Living community will be housed in MSV Lewis Hall 1st Floor.

Monday, February 14 – Student’s Choice Theme Community Candidates will present their proposals to Residence and Greek Life.
Tuesday, February 15 – Residence and Greek Life will inform candidates of their status
Take advantage of the online Room Reservation from March 7 – May 1, 2011. Reserve your preferred room with the roommate of your choice.
Room Reservation is an online process where returning residents have the opportunity to be able to select an available space on campus for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Students must first make a prepayment, payment plan or submit a waiver prior to reserving a room.
