State Street Village (SSV)
State Street Village is the newest residence hall at IIT. SSV consists of three, five-story buildings facing State Street and backing up to the Chicago Transit Authority's Green Line elevated train. The buildings contains 367 beds in two suite style buildings (two students per bedroom) and one apartment-style building (one student per bedroom).
Both apartments and suites contain bathrooms which are shared with no more than three others. State Street Village accommodates 367 students. Two-thirds of those students will live in suites.
Residence and Greek Life has a variety of campus housing options. IIT is growing and campus housing continues to be a commodity. It is strongly recommended that students apply for housing as early as possible.

What type of apartments are available in State Street Village?
SSV features our suite doubles, as well as single rooms, suite singles, studio singles, studio apartments, and three or six-bedroom apartments.
What furniture is provided?
Each student is provided with study desk with chair, dresser, extra-long twin bed. Apartments are also provided a couch and kitchen appliances (gas range and refrigerator).
Can furniture be removed from the apartment?
Residents cannot remove University provided furniture. Residents needing accommodations can request furniture removal.
Who is eligible to live in SSV?
Residency varies by room type. Please review the residency requirements above.
Can students with families or dependants live in SSV?
Students with families or dependents cannot live in SSV. Contact Residence and Greek Life to review available options.
How do students pay for SSV?
Residents make all payments through the Office of the Bursar. Payments are due each semester, similar to tuition.
What are the cancellation terms of the SSV contract?
Important cancellation terms and deadlines can be reviewed in the 2012-2013 Room and Board contract.
Does SSV allow pets?
SSV does not allow pets. Service animals are permitted. Contact the Office of Students with Disabilities for additional information.
Is smoking permitted?
All campus housing is compliant with State of IL indoor air quality policies. Smoking is only permitted outside of the building.
Is a pre-payment required?
The pre-payment is outlined in the 2012-2013 contract. Residents returning to campus housing will need to submit a prepayment.
