The Commons features tray-less, buffet style, all-you-care-to-eat dining with healthy foods and wholesome favorites.   Everyone is welcome to dine in The Commons; those not on a meal plan may simply pay the door price to gain entry.  One low price gives you outstanding variety, including vegetarian and gluten-free options. The best part - you can go back for seconds!

Center Court & Center Court Late Night

Located in the center of MTCC. Center Court offers a sub sandwich bar that rivals any others in town!  Choose from our menu of $3.99 subs or create your own!  You can also choose from burgers, fries and more from the grill, Connie’s personal pizzas, steakhouse chili, vegetarian chili and a fantastic soup of the day. Center Court will be open for late night dining Sunday through Wednesday from 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm.  Stop by and pick up a late night snack to take back to your room!

Located on the west side of MTCC. Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to join us in our Mies-inspired dining room for lunch.  Enjoy a variety of fresh seasonal menu items and daily dessert specials.  Each menu item is prepared to order by our talented team of chefs.

IIT’s newest dining outlet and located in the IIT Tower Lobby at 10 W. 35th Street, 10west is open for breakfast and lunch, Monday through Friday.  Stop by for a coffee or espresso that rivals the more expensive coffee shops! Come back for a quick Simply-to-Go lunch and something sweet to eat.

The Bog
Thursday-Friday 5:00pm-1:00am

Located in Hermann Hall / IIT Conference Center The Bog is IIT’s campus pub and recreation center, and a favorite of students, faculty and alumni.  With a full-service bowling alley, pool and ping pong tables, an arcade equipped Wii and other gaming favorites, and bar and grill. The Bog also hosts comedians, bands, and other entertainment.

Shedd Aquarium

A playground for adults and children alike! One of Chicago’s most beloved museums, some of the most popular attractions include a working coal mine, a German submarine from WW2, and a spacecraft used during the Apollo 8 mission. And fun fact: The museum is housed in the only permanent structure erected during the World’s Columbian Exposition, held in Chicago in 1893 – the Palace of Fine Arts.

Lincoln Park Zoo

Brookfield Zoo

Located in Brookfield, approximately 15 miles west of Chicago, Brookfield Zoo is the largest zoo in Illinois. The zoo quickly gained attention after its opening in 1934 for its use of moats and ditches to keep the animals separate from one another and visitors, as opposed to cages. Wrigley Field

Solider Field

Built as a memorial to fallen soldiers, Soldier Field has been home to the Chicago Bears since 1971. Originally built in a Greco-Roman style, the new modern addition has been a talking point for Chicago since renovations in 2003. In Burnham Park, just east of Soldier Field, stands the Balbo Column; the only remaining remnant of the 1933 Century of Progress World’s Fair, the column is a gift to Chicago from Benito Mussolini.

John Hancock Observatory

Elks Veterans Memorial

Built as a memorial to Elk’s members who perished in World War 1, the memorial has been rededicated to include veterans of all subsequent conflicts. Designed in a Beaux-Arts style, the interior is designed with allegorical murals and art reflective of noble and humanitarian ideals. A little known fact: A young group of Northwestern students made a student film here, featuring a young actor named Charlton Heston .
