Human Resources Introduces PeopleAdmin
Recruitment & Evaluation Software
The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce
the implementation of a new recruitment and performance
evaluation software, PeopleAdmin. Effective January
2, 2007, all personnel requisitions and employment applications
must be submitted electronically in one centralized,
online software application. This cooperative venture
with IIT Research Institute promises to streamline internal
processes for hiring managers and provide improved feedback
to candidates during the recruitment process.
All current job openings at IITRI and IIT will be posted
electronically. Candidates can access full job descriptions
through a broad search or narrow their choices by category
or job title. Applicants will be able to complete one
application for more than one job opening simultaneously.
For walk-in candidates, the Office of Human Resources
offers a computer kiosk where candidates can complete
the online form. For applicants who do not already have
an existing email account, providers of free services
are suggested for candidates to receive communications
about the status of the recruitment process. A shorter
internal application is now available for employees
seeking promotional opportunities. PeopleAdmin delivers
full access to all system capabilities from any personal
computer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With the implementation
of PeopleAdmin, IIT will no longer be accepting fax,
email, or hard copies of resumes and applications.
The creation of this customized product began with
its selection by IIT's recruitment team and executive
management this summer, and continued in the fall with
pilot testing by hiring managers and executives from
the Main, Downtown, and Moffett Campuses. The recruitment
module is being launched immediately. In the near future,
the performance evaluation module will be used to move
the university-wide performance evaluation process online.
User training for PeopleAdmin familiarized users with
the new processes on the Main Campus in December. Plans
include ongoing training at each IIT campus.
PeopleAdmin is an Austin, TX based company specializing
in systems that automate many paper and staff-intensive
processes associated with Higher Education Human Resources.
Over 300 leading Colleges and Universities utilize PeopleAdmin
to dramatically reduce the time and costs associated
with the employment application and position management
process. SunGard Higher Education named PeopleAdmin
as the preferred and recommended applicant tracking
system for their Banner customers. The implementation
of PeopleAdmin is part of the larger b@iit project.
