Michael Davis

Michael Davis, senior fellow at the Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions and professor of philosophy, has received a three–year grant from the European Commission Framework 7 to study scientific innovation policy in the European Union. Davis attended the first meeting of the working group in UNESCO's Paris headquarters March 19–22.

In addition, Davis has recently published two papers on John Locke's political philosophy—"Locke on Consent: The Two Treatises as Practical Ethics," Philosophical Quarterly 62 (July 2012): 464–485, and "Locke's Political Society: Some Problems of Terminology in Two Treatises of Government," Journal of Moral Philosophy (2013; prepublished here), with a third article due to be published in September: "Locke (and Hobbes) on 'Property' in the State of Nature," International Philosophical Quarterly 53.
