Nippert-Eng Participates in ASA Meeting

Christena Nippert-Eng, acting chair, Social Sciences Department, attended the American Sociological Association annual meeting in Atlanta, August 13-17. She began her yearlong term as chair of the Communication and Information Technologies Section of the ASA, and her new book, Islands of Privacy (University of Chicago Press, 2010, was debuted. She also presented a paper for the Sociology of Culture Section, "Learning to Conceal: Children and the Management of the Private-Public Boundary," and served as discussant for the panel "Work in the Academy" for the Organizations, Occupations and Work Section.
