    The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) is a broad-based public private alliance consisting of key industry, academic and government stakeholders whose mission is to support safe food production by developing a nationwide core curriculum, training and outreach programs to assist companies producing human and animal food in complying with the preventive controls regulations that will be part of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).


    Registration Open for August 26th Webinar

    The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), in collaboration with the Food and Drug Association (FDA), hosts its next quarterly webinar to update stakeholders on the progress of the Alliance. Special guest, Roberta Wagner, Deputy Director for Regulatory Affairs at FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), will provide an overview on FDA’s FSMA Implementation Operational Strategy, “FSMA:  Where We’ve Been, And Where We Are Going”.     FSPCA Curriculum "Shakedown"

    On May 28-30, 2014, 35 people with experience in food safety training attended the first run through of the draft FSPCA curriculum for human food. Valuable feedback was collected on suggested modifications to enhance delivery for the intended audience of small- to mid-sized processors.

    FSMA Proposed Rules, Fact Sheets and Summaries

    The Proposed Rule for Preventive Controls for Food for Animals was released on October 25, 2013 and the comment period ended March 31, 2014. For more information, email

    Q: When will training be available?
    A: The FSPCA training curriculum is being developed to be consistent with FSMA. Consequently, the FSPCA training curriculum will be publicly available when the Final Preventive Controls Rule is published.
