Paul V. Galvin Library

(1962, Walter Netsch for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill)

Galvin Library, with its heavy plate girders spanning the roof and dark glass curtain walls, echoes elements of S.R. Crown Hall, but its girders are supported from interior columns.

The Galvin Library makes 760,000 volumes available to IIT students, and gives them access to more than 35 million others through an extensive inter-library loan network. Galvin's on-line information services allow users to access hundreds of databases nationwide.

The library also houses the Educational Technology Center.
