(1891, Patten and Fisher)
Distinguished by its red brick exterior and terra cotta ornamentation adapted from the European Romanesque style, Main Building is one of IIT's most visible landmarks. Inside is a three-paneled art glass window set in a marble frame. The window, by Edwin Sperry, who was an associate of Louis C. Tiffany, is a memorial to Philip Danforth Armour, Jr., son of Armour Institute's founder.
Main Building houses the Student Finance Center, the offices of Student Registration and Records, Educational Services, and the Graduate College, the campus radio station, and architecture and engineering graphics computer laboratories.
