    MIRC's Mission

The principal mission of the MIRC is to promote, coordinate, and foster research and educational activities at IIT in medical imaging and related fields.

    Education

The MIRC coordinates medical-imaging education at IIT. Students can study medical imaging at IIT, either in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) or the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME). Further details can be found at the Educational Programs page.

    Research synergy

The MIRC promotes medical-imaging research at IIT by fostering cooperative activities, not only among the core faculty, but also among faculty in other areas and at other institutions. The MIRC is mainly supported by many different institutes within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). More about MIRC research can be found by following the topic links on the home page.

    Technology transfer

The MIRC is involved on the academic side of technology transfer efforts, helping to bring innovative ideas "from bench to bedside."
