National Center for Food Safety and Technology

The National Center for Food Safety and Technology (NCFST) is a unique research consortium composed of scientists from the Illinois Institute of Technology, US Food and Drug Administration, and the food industry. NCFST provides a neutral ground where industry, academia and government scientists can pool their scientific expertise and institutional perspectives to address food safety and nutrition issues in a proactive and creative manner to enhance public health.

Online Registration Open for Mid-Year Meeting
The NCFST Mid-Year (formerly Semi Annual) Meeting will be held April 6-7, 2010, at the Chicago Southwest Marriott Hotel, Burr Ridge, IL. Online registration is now available for NCFST members through login to the Members Only area.
US-India Symposium on Food Processing Technologies
Dr. Darsh Wasan, NCFST’s Acting Director and IIT Vice President, has announced a new collaboration between the U.S. National Academy of Engineering (USNAE), the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) aimed at identifying the challenges and opportunities in improving global food safety and innovation.
