IIT Students Honored by Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago for 2013 EPA Campus RainWorks Challenge Win
May 17, 2013The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago issued a resolution on May 16 at its board meeting in recognition of the IIT student entry in the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Campus RainWorks Design Challenge. Students from IIT College of Architecture and the Landscape Architecture Program, IIT Armour College of Engineering and IIT Stuart School of Business, led by Studio Assistant Professor Mary Pat Mattson and Paul Anderson, were recognized for their first-place design of green infrastructure to manage stormwater on the campus of IIT. -
MDes Student Aaron Otani Wins KPCB Fellowship
May 17, 2013Congratulations to IIT Institute of Design Master of Design student Aaron Otani, who beat out 2,000 applicants from more than 200 universities to win the Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers fellowship this summer. College of Science and Letters Announces Winners of $5,000 Summer Research Stipends
May 10, 2013Matt Bauer, associate dean for academic affairs, College of Science and Letters, announced the winners of this year's CSL Undergraduate Summer Research Stipends. Each student will receive $5,000 to do research with a faculty member this summer. -
IIT Students Present Real-Time Communications Projects
May 10, 2013IIT Information Technology and Management students presented and demonstrated their Real-Time Communications projects to a crowd of communications professionals on May 1. Students were challenged to conduct research, and test and deploy solutions as part of the project-based learning approach at IIT School of Applied Technology. Unlike a final exam, these students had to provide a working system and defend it in front of a crowd of industry professionals—some with 30 years of experience. -
MMF and MSF Students Win Third Place in Trading Competition
May 10, 2013A team of Master of Mathematical Finance and Master of Science in Finance students won third place at the University of Chicago Midwest Trading Competition, held April 12 - 13 at the Chicago Booth Gleacher Center. IIT Team members Xi Liu (MMF candidate, team captain), Rui Tu (MMF candidate), He Wang (MSF candidate), Yuchen Zhang (MSF candidate) received a $1,000 prize. The competition was sponsored by OptionsCity Software and CME Group at the University of Chicago.
