    Usha Gilmore Named New Women’s Basketball Coach

    Usha Gilmore has been named the head women's basketball coach for Illinois Institute of Technology. Gilmore has been assistant coach at the University of Illinois for the past two seasons, where she has had a role in recruiting, the development of the Illini post players, scouting and assisted with organizing the summer camp.

    Liam Barrett Named Soccer All-American

    Not only has Illinois Tech senior forward Liam Barrett been awarded many academic honors this year but now the athletic awards are showing up as well. Barrett was named to the 2012 NAIA Men's Soccer All-America honorable mention team on December 3. Barrett, a business major, led Illinois Tech with 17 goals and 6 assists this season.

    Illinois Tech Baseball Promotes Men’s Health Awareness with “No Shave November”

    You may have heard of “No Shave November” or “Movember” being promoted by some well-known athletes, like Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears and Aaron Rogers of the Green Bay Packers. Over November, the Illinois Tech baseball team also put down their razors in the hopes of raising awareness for men’s health.

    Illinois Tech Inks NAIA Scholar-Athletes

    The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for fall sports. Illinois Tech has representation in men’s and women’s soccer, women’s cross country and women’s volleyball. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor

    Men’s Soccer’s Liam Barrett Named Academic All-District 1st Team Member

    Illinois Tech Men's Soccer senior forward Liam Barrett has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District men's soccer in the college division. The 2012 Capital One Academic All‐District Men’s Soccer Teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America to recognize the nation’s top student‐athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
