A message from IIT Bookstore Manager Joshua Shaver: I know that you want a simplified textbook adoption process that provides you and your students with the course materials you need to ensure academic success. To help, I’m excited to let you know that we’ve launched a new, online adoption platform called FacultyEnlight—a simple, user-friendly experience that will help you discover, adopt and deliver your course materials to the campus bookstore. Built from extensive faculty research, FacultyEnlight combines search capabilities along with product reviews, making it easier than ever to select from our robust, academically oriented catalog. You’ll also be able to review your past three years of adoption history if you decide to register. And, by submitting your adoptions early, we’re able to provide IIT students with more cost saving options such as rental, digital and used books. -

Welcome Newest Member of IIT HR Team
April 16, 2013Derrick Streater is the newest member of the IIT Human Resources team, joining the university on April 1 as senior human resources generalist. He obtained a bachelor of science from Columbia College of Chicago and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management and Development from National Louis University. For eight years, Streater was employed in human resources at Columbia College , primarily in the areas of training and development, and employee relations. -

The IPRO Day event is the culmination of IPRO team work via exhibits and presentations. This semester there are over 55 IPRO teams participating - our largest IPRO Day ever! -

2013 CSL Undergraduate Summer Research Stipend Program Nomination Deadline Approaching
April 4, 2013IIT College of Science and Letters Associate Dean Matt Bauer announced that the college is accepting nominations for $5,000 CSL Undergraduate Summer Research Stipends for summer 2013. Up to eight stipends will be awarded. All CSL majors are eligible, and all IIT faculty may nominate a student. Nominations are due by Monday, April 15. -
Judges Needed for IIT Research Day Student Poster Competition
April 2, 2013The IIT Office of Research is searching for faculty and staff to help recognize the hard work of IIT students and provide valuable feedback by serving as judges for the IIT Research Day Student Poster Competition. The competition is divided into graduate and undergraduate tracks and includes students from various academic departments. Three winners from each track will receive cash awards and plaques. -
IBM/SPSS Data Mining Workshop
April 2, 2013Marty Bariff will offer a hands-on tour of IBM/SPSS Modeler software for IIT faculty on Tuesday, April 9 from 12:45–1:30 pm in the AH218 Computer Lab. Take this test run to consider using the software in your courses or research. Applications include data quality, modeling for predictive analytics and pattern identification plus text analytics. The software is installed in almost all IIT computer labs from an IBM grant.
