As the university completes migration of IIT email accounts and calendaring to Gmail and Google Apps for Education, the calendar that is default in myIIT Group Studio will be disabled.
Effective immediately, no new Group Studio groups in myIIT will be accepted. Current groups may continue to be used but will be disabled as of June 29, 2012.
Group owners who wish to keep communication active among members should recreate their group in Google Apps for Education. To get started, login to myIIT and click the Google Apps icon for your role on any myIIT page.
Please notify firstname.lastname@example.org when you have recreated your group in Google and have deleted your myIIT Group Studio group.
Google Groups may be created for student organizations, special interest areas, faculty and staff work groups, and more. There is no approval process or renewal required. Group owners will continue to have control over who can participate in their group. Your Google Group also takes advantage of all the features of Google Apps for Education, including document sharing, email, Google calendar, and more.
