2013 Social Security Rate Increase and First Paycheck
January 11, 2013The Social Security tax rate increase to 6.2% applies to all wages paid in 2013, even if a portion of the wages were earned in 2012. As a result, all wages earned for the period December 23, 2012 through January 5, 2013 but paid in 2013 is subject to the 6.2% rate. -
Effects of Recent Tax Legislation
January 7, 2013The recently passed tax legislation preserves tax rates as they were at the end of 2012 except for those individuals earning more than $400,000 and households earning more than $450,000. -

Controller’s Office Moving to Tech Park Central, Closed October 10 – 12

Accounts Payable Update: New Travel and Expense Report Form and Guidelines
September 18, 2012A new version of the Travel and Expense Report Form has been posted to the Controller’s Office Forms site (under the Accounts Payable section). Accounts Payable will accept the old form through next month to accommodate for forms in progress. Travel requests are no longer required for every trip, unless specified by your department. Travel Request Forms are required when using Foremost Travel, IIT’s designated travel agent, or when requesting a travel advance. -
Employee Travel and Expense Reimbursement Notification
June 6, 2012Beginning on June 15, employees with expense reimbursements will receive email notifications that their reimbursements have been deposited to their bank accounts. Attached to the email will be a copy of the deposited remittance. -
Controller’s Office Organizational Changes
March 2, 2012IIT Associate Vice President of Finance and Controller Brian Laffey announced several organizational changes, effective April 1, 2012. These organizational changes will enable the Controller’s Office to align resources to best meet the university’s business needs while providing greater customer service. -
Discontinuation of the Petty Cash Reimbursement Program
January 19, 2012Effective January 17, 2012, the university will no longer reimburse for business expenses with petty cash.
