    “Delicious Peace” Grows in a Ugandan Coffee Bean Film Screening and Fair Trade Raffle

    "Delicious Peace" tells the story of Christian, Muslim and Jewish farmers in a small Ugandan village who put aside their differences to form the Delicious Peace Coffee Cooperative, hoping to improve their lives and provide for their families. The co-op was able to expand and flourish after establishing a partnership with a fair trade buyer in the United States. Join us for this free event, to be held on Wednesday, April 3 from 6:30–8:00 pm in the MTCC Auditorium, to celebrate the interfaith work of Delicious Peace. Tasty fair trade refreshments will be provided!

    Be Blue for Better Together Day

    On Thursday, April 4, people across the country will wear blue on Better Together Day to raise awareness about the importance of interfaith cooperation. People of different religious and non-religious backgrounds will mobilize their campuses, communities and companies to show the world we are better together. The Office of Spiritual Life and Service Learning and IIT's Better Together student organization invite you to join them in celebrating Better Together Day! Come over to the MTCC Bridge on the IIT Main Campus during the lunch and dinner hours and sign the #BeBlue pledge. Don't have anything blue? No worries! The first 120 people to sign the pledge will get a blue "Better Together" bracelet!

    Muslim Journeys Film Screening: “Prince of Slaves”

    Students, staff and faculty are invited to view the film "Prince Among Slaves" which recounts the true story of an African Muslim prince who was captured and sold into slavery in the American South. After 40 years of enslavement, he regained his freedom, became a national celebrity and dined in the White House. This is an incredible story about an incredible man who endured the humiliation of slavery without losing his dignity or his hope for freedom. The film will be shown on Thursday, February 28 from 3:00-6:00 pm in the MTCC Auditorium.

    Vigil for Syria Today, Friday, January 18

    Please join the Office of Spiritual Life and Service Learning at a vigil to honor and remember those lost on January 15 at the University of Aleppo in Syria. A vigil will be held today, Friday, January 18 at 5:30 pm at the Volleyball Court on the South Lawn of the MTCC.
