Connect to IIT-Secure Wireless on Main Campus
October 15, 2012OTS is in the process of upgrading the wireless infrastructure on Main Campus to a secure network that protects users by encrypting all data sent between their device and wireless access points. In early 2013, OTS will retire the non-encrypted “IIT-WiFi” wireless network. -

September 19, 2012Blackboard 9.1 will be the live university learning management system in January 2013. Faculty have access to the system now! You can explore 9.1 as an instructor in your own permanent course shell. You can even import content from one course or multiple courses in Blackboard 8 into that permanent space in 9.1. -

Google Groups and Sites Replace myIIT Group Studio
September 6, 2012The myIIT portal launched in January 2007 with a Group Studio feature to encourage communication among students, faculty, and staff over common interest areas. With the university's transition to Google Apps for Education/IIT Gmail, the Group Studio interface in myIIT has been discontinued in favor of Google Groups and Sites. -
Blackboard 9.1 Faculty Orientation Sessions Begin September 5
September 5, 2012Blackboard 9.1 is ready for faculty! Visit the Blackboard @ IIT Google site where faculty will be able to use their regular UID and password to log in to the new Blackboard. -

August 29, 2012Faculty will be able access to the new Blackboard 9.1 using their very own permanent course shells starting Tuesday, September 4. -
Reducing Printing at IIT
August 17, 2012Beginning this fall, free printing credits are being reduced to 250 per semester. The credits will continue to roll over between semesters until the end of the summer term when all accounts are wiped and reloaded with fresh print credits for the fall. Free print credits do not represent actual money, but if students need, they can add their own funds for additional printing. -
Changes on the way for Blackboard @ IIT!
August 14, 2012IIT Online has been working closely with OTS as the university upgrades our learning management system (LMS) to its new version, Blackboard 9.1. Faculty access and orientation to the new version will begin this September. The new version will become the live system for students and courses with the spring 2013 semester. -
