Associate Professor of Computer Science Shlomo Argamon spoke with Network World and Tech Eye about Autonomous Dynamic Analysis of Metaphor and Analogy (ADAMA), an international research project led by IIT to develop a software system capable of identifying and understanding metaphors in multiple languages from very large amounts of data.

CTBUH-IIT Team Wins Grant for Green Wall Facade Research
April 5, 2012The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and several members of the Illinois Institute of Technology faculty have been awarded a grant from the Wanger Institute for Sustainable Energy Research (WISER) to study the energy-saving effectiveness of green wall façade systems. -

February 8, 2012Biology and environmental engineering researchers at IIT describe how Vitreoscilla hemoglobin (VHb) can enhance ethanol production in Escherichia coli in a variety of growth media by increasing the oxygen supply in a new article in Biomass and Bioenergy. The work is an important step in research in the production of ethanol from biomass. -
