Muslim Journeys Film Screening: “Prince of Slaves”
February 19, 2013Students, staff and faculty are invited to view the film "Prince Among Slaves" which recounts the true story of an African Muslim prince who was captured and sold into slavery in the American South. After 40 years of enslavement, he regained his freedom, became a national celebrity and dined in the White House. This is an incredible story about an incredible man who endured the humiliation of slavery without losing his dignity or his hope for freedom. The film will be shown on Thursday, February 28 from 3:00-6:00 pm in the MTCC Auditorium. -

February 8, 2013Chinese New Year, also known as the "Spring Festival," is the longest and most important festival of the Chinese lunar calendar. In 2013 the new year starts on February 10, marking the beginning of Chinese year 4711, the Year of the Snake. -

IIT Celebrates the Birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
January 12, 2012On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. In celebration of this great leader, the IIT community is invited to revisit this famous speech in which he called for racial equality and an end to discrimination on Tuesday, January 17.
