First Year Checklist

All entering first year students are required to complete a number of tasks prior to attending classes in the fall. If you will be attending June/July/August orientation we ask that you complete the following tasks prior to your session:

Fill out required health forms and submit them to the Student Health Center prior to (or when you attend) summer orientation

1. Immunization Requirement Form
2. It is mandatory at IIT that all full-time students and students living in residence halls have health insurance. If you have insurance of your own, complete the Health Insurance Waiver Form. If you do not have qualifying insurance coverage complete the Health Insurance Enrollment Form.

Please Note: If you do not waive participation in the Student Health Insurance Plan before the deadline, you will be enrolled automatically and billed $850 for this coverage. International F1 and J1 Students are not permitted to waive the IIT Student Health Insurance!

Before January orientation we also recommend that you log into myIIT, the university portal, to access your IIT E-mail and check out the Orientation Group message board and announcements.

What to bring for Orientation:

The following items are important to remember when you are packing for orientation:

• Government-issued photo ID (drivers license, passport, etc.)

Paperwork:

• Complete Immunization Requirement Form
• Complete Health Insurance Waiver or Health Insurance Enrollment
• Insurance card (if waiving health insurance)
