IIT Secure Wireless Network
OTS is in the process of upgrading the wireless infrastructure on Main Campus to an encrypted, secure wireless network. The non-encrypted “IIT-WiFi” wireless network will ultimately be retired and the campus network will be secure only. The new encrypted wireless network, “IIT-Secure”, is currently available in most Main Campus buildings in addition to non-encrypted wireless networks, such as “IIT-WiFi”; refer to the campus wireless map for current coverage information. Secure wireless is important because it protects users by encrypting all data sent between their devices and the wireless access points. OTS recommends that users begin using “IIT-Secure” wherever it is available.
An online tool to automatically configure mobile devices for “IIT-Secure” can be accessed at: http://www.iit.edu/ots/xpc.
Directions to manually configure mobile devices can be found here:

To ensure a secure connection, users must authenticate with their IIT e-mail address and myIIT password to connect to the “IIT-Secure” wireless network.
If your device does not support WPA2 Enterprise wireless or if you have any other questions about secure wireless, please contact the OTS Support Desk at 312.567.3375, supportdesk@iit.edu or visit http://support.iit.edu
