Subject: Holidays 

There are nine paid holidays each year for eligible non-union employees. Union employees are governed by the applicable provisions of the appropriate labor agreement. 

New Year's Day 
Martin Luther King Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day 
Two (2) floating holidays as established in each year's holiday schedule

2.01  All full-time employees will be given the official holidays off with straight time pay to a maximum of 7 3/4 hours per holiday. 
2.02 Part-time employees regularly scheduled at least 23 1/4 hours per week earn a pro-rated share of 7 3/4 hours per holiday and will be paid that amount if the holiday occurs on a day normally scheduled.
2.03 If required to work a scheduled IIT holiday, the eligible non-exempt employee shall be compensated at 1 1/2 times his/her regular hourly rate of pay for all hours worked. In addition, the eligible employee will receive holiday pay.
2.04 In order to be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must have worked his/her last scheduled work day prior to and his/her next scheduled work day subsequent to the holiday unless the supervisor has previously granted an excused absence with or without pay.
2.05 The employee must have worked in the payroll period in which the holiday occurs unless on vacation or paid sick leave.
