Dr. Lane earned his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science with an emphasis on behavioral and emotional integration at the University of Florida. His doctoral training prepared him for interdisciplinary research; an emphasis that resonates throughout his teaching and research. Dr. Lane has 6 years of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in rehabilitation and psychology. He has experience teaching in traditional and distance education venues utilizing Blackboard and Web-CT platforms.
People with disabilities could best describe the common thread that can be found to run through Dr. Lane’s research projects as physical and attitudinal barriers that prevent or factors that facilitate full participation in society. The three topical areas Dr. Lane has explored along this line include assistive technology research and selection, professional and research ethics, and hate crime victimization of persons with disabilities.
