Dr. Jonathon E. Larson joined the IIT Rehabilitation Psychology Program in 2006 as clinical assistant professor and director of research at the Joint Research Programs in Psychiatric Rehabilitation. He provides direction for fieldwork requirements, directs the part-time M.S. rehabilitation counseling program, and teaches various courses within the rehabilitation psychology program. Dr. Larson has over 15 years of experience providing rehabilitation services for individuals with severe mental illness. He has over 10 years of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in rehabilitation and psychology. He has coordinated research studies and published articles on psychiatric vocational rehabilitation, barriers to employment, stages of change in employment, staff burnout, rehabilitation leadership, and mental illness stigma. He is the managing editor of the American Journal of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and has co-authored 10 published training manuals and videos on psychiatric rehabilitation.
