Michael A. Young, Ph.D. is Associate Professor in the Institute of Psychology at Illinois Institute of Technology. Formerly, he was director of the Depression/ Awareness, Recognition and Treatment Program at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center. He received his B.A. from the University of Chicago and his Ph.D. from Adelphi University. Dr. Young has extensive research publications in the areas of the symptoms and diagnosis of depression, seasonal affective disorder, cognitive-behavioral models of mood disorders, and statistical modeling of psychopathology. He is Associate Editor of the Journal Abnormal Psychology and Consulting Editor of Psychological Assessment. Dr. Young is active in the leadership of the Society for Research and Psychopathology and the Society for Light Treatment and Biological Rhythms.
