International Collaborations
In recent years the international presence of Psychology has been growing.
Dr. Chow Lam has been actively undertaking to partner with Beijing Normal University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hong Kong Polytechnic and Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Science to develop programs in rehabilitation counseling. There is tremendous need for rehabilitation programs in China where the population of disabled people numbers over 60 million. In the summer of 2007 we signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese Academy of Sciences for research and curricular collaboration.

In addition, professors
Corrigan,
Lam and
Larson, traveled to such places as Beijing, Hong Kong, Ireland and Australia, extending the reach of IIT Rehabilitation Counseling. Similarly,
Dr. Ayman has been presenting on I/O topics including work family balance and leadership in international arenas in Spain, Mexico, Greece, China Luxembourg, and the UK for the past decade. Dr. Lam, who will be retiring in the not-too-distant future will be helping to assure our relationship with
China in the future by building mechanisms for research and student exchange.
