    Parents of Potential Graduate Students

If you are the parent of a graduate student, you are probably in a tough position. Most graduate students want to be fully independent and keep matters related to school private. We of course respect that. We also respect that as a parent you are understandably interested in the success of your student and possibly even financially responsible. You may be pleased to know that the American Psychological Association predicts that jobs in psychology will be increasing over the next decade. We are delighted to help you learn more about what we do and have provided some resources we think might be useful.

IIT may not be broadly known for psychology but we have been granting degrees in psychology for almost 100 years and within the profession our programs are well known. We have prominent faculty and nationally ranked programs that position us among the best. We offer applied experience and research training to all of our students. We encourage families to learn more about us, visit when you can, and above all, partner with us in supporting the success of your student.
