In case you're still not super excited about Service Week, there's more! The Coalition for Service Learning and Professional Responsibility is planning to have Penny Wars during lunchtime on the MTCC Bridge. The teams will be separated by what college you belong to (College of Science and Letters, College of Architecture, ect.). The rules are simple, if you want to vote for a particular college, throw some pennies into that college's jar. If you want a particular college to lose, put in any money that is not pennies and that amount will be subtracted from their penny amount. The college with the most pennies and the least amount of other change will win, and proceeds will go to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
So now that you are thoroughly excited for Service Week, why not buy a T-shirt? The proceeds will be given to charity and you'll get the chance to show off how helpful you've been.
If you have any questions, contact emoss@iit.edu. The Coalition for Service Learning and Professional Responsibility will be meeting at 9:15 pm on Thursday, November 5 in the MTCC LaSalle Bank Executive Conference Room. Any organization, fraternity, or sorority that organizes volunteer, service, or philanthropy efforts, or individuals looking to contribute should attend. Return to Archives |
