Getting the Best Company Info
IIT Today November 05, 2009

Want to get the competiitive edge in your job hunt? Come to the November First Friday and find out how. Researching Companies for Job Interviews is co-hosted by the Career Management Center and Galvin Library. You will learn how to:

• set up an auto-generated list of companies
• research companies to improve your grade on class assignments
• access employer and company information
• say the right things and ask the right questions in your dream job interview

Business Librarian Christine McClure will show you how to quickly and automatically generate lists of potential employers or company information based on location or industry, as well as how to find all sorts of exclusive information about those companies. The CMC's Nathan Frideres will instruct you on how to use your findings to wow interviewers. The subscription-only sites taught here are NOT available to most of your competition who are using free sites like Google. Your access to the subscription sites is available while you are a registered student, so this workshop is a must for anyone graduating in December.

This class will be held Friday, November 6 on Galvin Library's lower level in the Library Learning Center from 12:50 pm to 1:40 pm. No registration is required, but space is limited so arrive on time! Want to know more about upcoming classes at the library? Visit the Galvin Library Classes & Workshops page, and be sure to check out the CMC website for a list of their upcoming events.
