Reduce and Reuse
Campus policy mandates that when printing, use double-sided as default. This helps us to use less paper and lessens our environmental impacts.
Please try to use printing paper that is comprised of recycled paper. This paper quality is good and helps us to promote campus policies and commitments.
Our campus goals are lofty and achievable if everyone does their part.
On campus, please use the fountains. All water fountains have been tested and the water is great.
American consumers use an average of six wireless products each day, all of which use batteries, requiring them to purchase three billion dry-cell batteries each year. Though more expensive initially, consider using rechargeable batteries for all of your wireless devices. One rechargeable battery may be substituted for hundreds of single-use batteries, and a rechargeable battery can be re-charged up to 1,000 times.
Recycling all of your batteries is critical for two reasons. Recycling batteries keeps toxic materials out of our landfills and therefore our soil, air and water supply, and it saves valuable resources since recovered materials can be used to make new batteries.
