IIT Institutional Biosafety Committee
In accordance with federal regulations the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) has developed an Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) in response to the need of faculty members to conduct research utilizing recombinant DNA. The Institutional Biosafety Committee is the cornerstone of institutional oversight of recombinant DNA research.
The IIT Institutional Biosafety Committee's review also includes oversight of a variety of experimentation that involves biological materials (e.g., infectious agents) and other potentially hazardous agents (e.g., carcinogens). The IBC is chaired by Ben Stark Ph.D. of BCPS starkb@iit.edu.
