Funding Opportunities for your research program
Opportunities both within and without IIT.
The Community of Science.
The Graduate College provides a paid subscription to The Community of Science (COS). COS provides access to comprehensive services that help you find funding.
Editorial and writing assistance for your proposals This can be done at the level you prefer: a simple grammatical review or a more complex review for style, grantsmanship, and cohesiveness. (Helpful hint: IIT faculty may follow these instructions to obtain a copy of a funded IIT proposal from OSRP.)
Help with your project's executive summary
This is the most read part of the proposal, so it needs to be well written.
Assistance integrating the sponsor’s “goal language” into your narrative. This is done by reviewing thoroughly the solicitation/program announcement for the proposal you are preparing, and then suggesting ways to integrate the sponsor’s language into your own. The intent is to ensure that your narrative and abstract fully address the specifics and requirements of the program the sponsor is trying to fund.
Assistance with resubmitting rejected proposals: addressing reviewers' comments in your revised proposal. You can also get assistance with revising a proposal that has been submitted to one sponsor so that it will be well-received by a second or even a third sponsor.
Provision of documentation on IIT resources, facilities, and policies. Often a proposal must include certain "boilerplate" (or, more precisely, "template") information so that the sponsor has sufficient information about IIT. Please visit our Boilerplate Library for details. IIT researchers wishing to share or borrow equipment for their research should visit our online Equipment Sharing Corner.
