IIT Research Day is an annual event that celebrates the various research activities that take place across campus with a special focus on student research. The day begins with a student poster competition, followed by the Sigma Xi Lecture and an awards ceremony.
Student Poster Competition (1pm – 3pm)
Each department has a limited number of undergraduate and graduate posters that they can nominate for the student poster competition.
Students interested in participating should contact their department chair to determine how their department is selecting posters. Most departments select the winners from the department’s poster competition.
Faculty who are interested in serving as poster judges can email Robert Lapointe at lapointe@iit.edu.
Sigma Xi Lecture (3pm to 4pm)
Project Phoenix: Policy, Science and Design Thinking
Awards Ceremony (4pm to 4:30pm)
The faculty Sigma Xi Award recipients are acknowledged (the awards are presented at the faculty reception on April 22), the student Sigma Xi Awards are presented, and the poster session awards are presented.
