We are pleased to once again offer you health insurance coverage through Aetna Student Health formally known as Chickering. Here you will find some general information about our insurance plan and on instructions how to enroll or waive insurance plan.
Domestic Full time Students
It is
mandatory at IIT that all full-time students and students
living in residence halls have health insurance. If you have
insurance of your own, you should complete the Waiver
Form online before the deadlines shown below. If you do not
waive participation in the Student Health Insurance Plan before
the deadline, you will be enrolled automatically and billed
$850 for this coverage. Domestic Students who are Part-Time,
Co-op, RA and TA students: If you do not live in the residence
halls, you are not mandated to have health insurance. If you
would like to enroll in the IIT Student Health Insurance Plan
you must fill out the online enrollment form before the deadlines shown below.
F1 and J1 Students:
You are not
permitted to waive the IIT Student Health Insurance!
Your
coverage will begin from August 14, 2009 and continue through
August 13, 2010. Insurance cards for F1 or J1 students
obtaining the annual coverage will be available for pick up by
the first week in October. If you are enrolled in the Spring
semester your card will be mailed to the local address you've
given IIT; they will be mailed out in Mid February. You can
also log on to Aetna Student Health's web site and use the
Aetna Navigator to print your temporary insurance card and
access all of your insurance benefits information.
If you are enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan, you may also purchase coverage for you eligible dependents. All eligible dependents enrolling for coverage must submit an Enrollment form to Aetna Benefit Planning Insurance Agent, Inc. Please click the forms link on our this site to obtain a copy of the Dependent Application Form. You can also enroll them online on Aetna's website
