IIT Requirements
Once you are accepted into your study abroad program, there are a number of things you must complete at IIT before your big day of departure, including registration for a “Study Abroad” course, placing your IIT housing on hold (if applicable) and making sure our office has all the relevant documentation.
- Faculty-Led Program participants register for the usual IIT classes
- Exchange Program participants register for EXCH 301
- Partner University program participants register for STDA 301
- Affiliated Provider Program participants register for STDA 301
- Visit: http://iit.edu/housing/choices/cancellation_terms.shtml
- Select “Study Abroad” in the drop down menu, as this will waive the cancellation fees.
For the spring semester, you must do this prior to December 1. This is not applicable for fall housing.
- Signed course approval form;
- Signed travel abroad waiver;
- Emergency contact details;
- Copy of your passport identification page;
- Copy of your health insurance card and written proof of policy that covers you abroad;
- Copy of your travel insurance policy;
- Signed pre-departure checklist;
- Copy of your visa;
You will also be required to submit your contact information in the host country while you are abroad, including address, cell phone number, apartment phone number and an emergency contact person.
