    Stay Global

Studying abroad can be one of the most life-changing events.  Don’t let it go to waste!  Take advantage of the many resources and opportunities available to you when you return home to utilize new skills, explore new interests, and share with others about the incredible experiences than await them should they decide to follow in your footsteps.

Work/Volunteer in the Study Abroad Office
Have you just returned from abroad? Are your friends and family already tired of your stories?  Get a new audience!  A great way combat any reverse culture shock you may be experiencing is to share your experience with not only your friends, but also prospective study abroad students and study abroad alumni. There will be many venues to do this, including activities within the International Center and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, such as the Study Abroad Fair and International Fest, or even as simple as a table in the MTCC to promote your program or scholarship.  We are also looking for people to help us develop ideas and materials for study abroad.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Ashley Sinclair at asincla1@iit.edu or 312-567-3694.  We look forward to working with you!

Move Into the Global Villages in IIT's Residence Halls
Housing a diverse group of domestic and international students, the Global Village community in IIT’s residence halls encourages students to become global citizens as they explore the many connections among language, art and culture on regional, national, and international scales.  Residents are encouraged to learn about other cultures as well as share their own heritage through community discussions, programs, and activities.  Contact housing@iit.edu for more information on how to get involved.
    Join Relevant Student Organizations
Student organizations and other cultural programs are also a great way to meet students from your host country.
