    8. Arts and Literature: 12 quarter hours required.
      At most 2 courses from the same department or program.

      except for ART 104, 105, 106, 110, 113, 115, 204, 229; PRF 290.

    9. Philosophical Inquiry: 8 quarter hours required:
      Choose from the courses listed on page 15 of the 2001-2003 DePaul University Bulletin.

    10. Religious Dimensions: 8 quarter hours required: 4 quarter hours in Patterns and Problems and 4 quarter hours in Traditions in Context.
      Choose from the courses listed on pages 16-17 of the 2001-2003 DePaul University Bulletin except for CTH 243; REL 280.

    11. Scientific Inquiry: not required.

    12. Self, Society and the Modern World: 12 quarter hours required. At most 2 courses from the same department or program.
      Choose from the courses listed on pages 20-21 of the 2001-2003 DePaul University Bulletin.

    13. Understanding the Past: 8 quarter hours required; One course must focus primarily on the period before 1800 and one
      course must focus primarily on the period between 1800 and 1945. In addition, courses must be from two different
      geographic categories: 1) Asia, 2) Latin America, 3) Africa, 4) North America or Europe and 5) intercontinental or
      comparative history.
