I. GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.
- Basic Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination or by passing an English Composition course.
- Humanities - Choose one course from the following: HIS 101, 102, 115, 116, 118, 120, 121, 151, 152, 160, 201; HUM 101, 102, 103, 104, 107, 110, 112, 113, 117, 118, 124, 170, 202, 203, 204, 205, 216, 217, 231; INS 107, 204; or LIT 201, 202, 203, 205, 210, 211, 214, 215, 216, 217, 219, 223, 230, 231, 235, 241, 242, 243, 244, 245.

- Science Electives for Computer Science majors - A minimum of fourteen (14) credit hours is required to fulfill this requirement. At least one natural science or engineering elective must be in a field other than physics. A CS major should complete PHY 111 and 112 and additional courses chosen from the following to total 14 credit hours: ATY 100, 101; BIO 105, 110, 113, 114,115, 120, 130, 135, 150; or CHM 101, 112, 115, 142, 143, 170.
