I. GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.
- Basic Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination or by passing an English Composition course.
- Humanities - Choose one course from the following: HIS 101, 102, 115, 116, 118, 120, 121, 151, 152, 160, 201; HUM 101, 102, 103, 104, 107, 110, 112, 113, 117, 118, 124, 170, 202, 203, 204, 205, 216, 217, 231; INS 107, 204; or LIT 201, 202, 203, 205, 210, 211, 214, 215, 216, 217, 219, 223, 230, 231, 235, 241, 242, 243, 244, 245.

- Science Electives - A minimum of thirteen (13) credit hours is required to fulfill this requirement. An Applied Mathematics major should complete PHY 111 and additional courses chosen from the following to total 13 credit hours: BIO 105, 110, 113, 114, 115, 120, 130, 135, 136, 150; CHM 101, 112, 115, 142, 143, 170; or PHY 112, 113.
