I. GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.
- Basic Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination or by passing an English Composition course.
- Humanities - Choose one course from the following: COM 102; HIS 101, 102, 105, 201, 202, 250, 251; HUM 101, 102, 104, 115; LIT 213, 214, 215, 216, 217, 218, 219, 220, 221, 222, 223, 224, 225, 226; or PHI 101, 115, 120, 125, 225, 226.
- Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 201, 202, 205, 210; ECO 101, 102, 250; GEO 101, 102, 201; PSC 103, 110, 115, 210, 212, 215, 225; PSY 101, 104, 105, 106, 201, 202, 205, 210, 211, 215, 220; SOC 101, 102, 103, 201, 202, 204, 210; or SSC 100, 101, 102.
- Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ART 110, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209; COM 120; HIS 204, 207, 210, 211, 215, 220, 230, 254; HUM 249, 251; LIT 205, 280; MUS 106, 107; PHI 111; or THE 107, 110.
- Science Electives for Computer Science majors - A minimum of fourteen (14) credit hours is required to fulfill this requirement. At least one natural science or engineering elective must be in a field other than physics. A CS major should complete PHYS 203 and 204 and two additional courses chosen from the following to total 14 credit hours: BIO 111, 112, 115, 119, 180; CHM 111, 131, 132; PHS 103, 105; PHYS 205.
