Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering

Who plan to major in:  Architectural Engineering or
                                  Civil Engineering

Please contact the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs with any questions regarding the course equivalencies below.

I. GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination or by passing an English Composition course.
2. Humanities - Choose one course from the following: ENG 103, 104, 111, 202, 203, 204, 206, 207; HIS 109, 110, 203, 204; HFA 201, 202; HUM 161, 210; or PHL 101, 102, 103.
3. Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 101; ECO 201, 202; GEO 103, 104; PSC 101, 102, 108, 210; PSY 101, 103, 105, 202, 204, 205, 206, 211, 212, 220; SSS 101; SOC 101, 102, 110, 204, 205, 206, 225; or URB 101, 214.
4. CIVIL ENGINEERING ONLY - Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ART 105, 106, 107, 218, 219, 221; DRM 151, 152, 155; ENG 102, 113, 123, 124, 208; HIS 101, 151, 271; HFA 107, 120, 158, 203, 210; HUM 205, 206; MUS 115; or URB 141.

II. EQUIVALENCIES - Following is a list of courses that will transfer into the Architectural or Civil Engineering programs at IIT and their direct equivalents at South Suburban College:

Note 1. EGR 101 at South Suburban College will substitute for CAE 100 and 101 at IIT.
