Privacy Policy

Illinois Institute of Technology Office of Undergraduate Admission is committed to protecting and safeguarding the individual privacy of applicants and their parents or guardians by restricting the use of all collected information. The information on this application may be used by IIT officials only for appropriate administrative (admission and financial aid processing, for example) and research purposes.

The only personally identifiable information the Office of Admissions collects via electronic mail, or through our online application, is that which is voluntarily provided by our prospective applicants and their parents or guardians. Tracking information is collected and analyzed so that we may improve our service offerings to our prospective applicants. This tracking information is kept confidential to IIT.

Illinois Institute of Technology will share personally identifiable information about you when one or more of the following conditions applies:

  • We have your consent to share the information.
  • We respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process.

Cookies

The Office of Undergraduate Admission, like most web sites, uses a feature of your browser to set a "cookie" on your computer. We cannot tell your name or any personal information about you based solely on the cookie. Unless you specifically tell us your name and other identifying information, we will never know who you are. All the cookie tells us is what functions you perform when you are on the site so that we can keep track of your transaction. The importance of security for all personal information associated with our prospective applicants is an important concern to the Office of Undergraduate Admission. In coordination with the Office of Technology Services at IIT, the Office of Undergraduate Admission seeks to exercise great care in providing secure transmission of your information from your computer to our servers. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. When credit card information is transmitted, we use industry standard SSL (secure socket layer) encryption.
