Joint Programs
IIT has established joint programs with the following Chicago-area institutions: DePaul University, Wheaton College, Benedictine University, Elmhurst College, Dominican University, Lewis University, and Chicago State University and University of Illinois at Chicago (see below). These programs differ from a 3+2 transfer program in that students earn two degrees: a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from IIT and a bachelor's degree in an approved discipline from their host school. Students will live on the campus of their host school while completing the requirements for both degrees. Admission into the Joint Program at another institution does not guarantee admission to IIT. For additional information, students should contact Ryan Nelson, Associate Director, at 312.567.5192 or nelsonr@iit.edu.

Chicago State University and University of Illinois at Chicago
This program is a consortium between Chicago State University's (CSU) Office of Engineering Studies, the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), and IIT. It is for high school graduates interested in engineering, but who are not necessarily ready for the rigors of university. Students who enter this challenging program complete the required coursework in mathematics and basic sciences at Chicago State University that enables them to qualify for transfer to accredited bachelor's degree programs in engineering at our partner institutions. Students who meet the program's admission requirements will find that they are fully supported in their engineering studies by a full range of academic services and a staff that has special responsibility to provide sound academic guidance.
Preparatory coursework is available to assist those students who must acquire prerequisites to enter engineering studies courses. The program can be paced to fit students' scholastic background and individual learning needs.
