Ayokunle A., 1st year Chemical Engineering student (planning to minor in Economics) from Lagos, Nigeria. Ayokunle goes by A.K. and loves the cold in Chicago. A.K is Treasurer for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, SGA Senator, and proud member of the National Society of Black Engineers. He loves playing soccer on the field and on Xbox 360. Upon graduation he plans to return to Lagos to help improve and advance his home country.
Etta T., 3rd year Mechanical Engineering student from Klagetoh, AZ. Etta is involved in the Society of Women Engineers, Dance 101, Women's Advisory Board, and aids with research at the school. She is interested in alternative energy research, hybrid/electric cars, old trucks, her Navajo cultural heritage and history, and global warming.
Marc H., 3rd year Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics major from Los Angeles, CA. Marc is a member of the Honors Medical Society, Amnesty International, and Debate@IIT. He is interested in golf, guitar, photography, ultimate frisbee, and Halo 3.
Saagar P., 4th Year Civil and Architectural Engineer from Geneva, IL. Saagar is involved with Phi Kappa Sigma, Union Board Treasurer, SGA Senator, and Leadership Academy. He loves buildings, sustainable housing for the poor, sustainable energy, stress, A36 Steel (Engineering humor), drums, reading, superheroes, crime-fighting, and whenever he gets a chance — sleep.
Sarah P., 3rd year Architecture major from Glendale, CA. Sarah is a member of Kappa Phi Delta, and is interested in running, snowboarding, architecture, football, ultimate frisbee, and hiking.
Sarah W., 3rd year transfer student majoring in Biomedical Engineering from Ottawa, IL. Sarah is involved in the VanderCook Wind Ensemble, Kappa Phi Delta, Community service projects, and works as an Admission Intern. Her interests include poetry, music, dancing, sewing, exploring Chicago, and food consumption. Sarah also contributes to the photos and stories featured on our main page.

Historic Campus

The academic campus of IIT was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. S. R. Crown Hall, home of the IIT architecture program, received National Historic Landmark status in 2001.
