    Move-In (Residence Halls)
    Get ready to move into your new home! Visit Residence & Greek Life for more information.
    11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Welcome BBQ (The Commons)
    Take a break from all the heavy lifting and grab a bite to eat! Dining plans will be active for students who have signed contracts; students and guests without dining plans are welcome to join us as well.
    11 a.m. - 1 p.m Orientation Resource Fair (MTCC)
    Explore the Orientation Resource Fair to learn about important resources from around campus and ask last minute questions to campus partners. Additionally, companies will be available to help you open a bank account, start a phone contract, or sign up for a car sharing program.
    12 p.m. - 4 p.m. Shopping Shuttles
    Chartered bus services will take students to Roosevelt Road where they shop Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond, and Best Buy.
    12 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Ventra Distribution for Fresh In The CIITy Participants Only
    Students participating in Fresh in the Ciity may bring their HawkCard and pick up their CTA Ventra Card. This will give you access to all Chicago Transit Authority buses and trains.
    7 p.m. Making Relationships Matter, with the Dating Doctor (Hermann Hall)
    After the text messages, IMs, emails, pokes, winks, snapchats, and videos have ended, a couple will ultimately have to meet face-to-face if they want a relationship to progress. Reporting "on-line" to be "in a relationship" is a far cry from actually being involved in one. Interacting in person with a potential love interest is becoming increasingly harder for people since much of their initial contact is electronic-based and buffered. Join David Coleman, the Dating Doctor, as he talks about how to form, mend, and create healthy relationships and at the same time share humorous failed pick-up line attempts!
    9 p.m. Residence Hall Floor Meetings (Various Residence Halls)
    Get to know your neighbors. Every student living in the residence hall should attend this important discussion – you’ll learn about your new community and get connected to some great resources.

    Sponsored by the Institute of Design, this mandatory program for first year students will help you start to think creatively about innovation and technology.
    11 a.m. Fresh in the Ciity (Hermann Hall Auditorium)
    Put your Ventra Card to good use and get to know the Chicago sights during IIT's biggest scavenger hunt!
    Noon - 4:30 p.m. Ventra Pickup for All Students (McCormick Tribune Campus Center Ballroom)
    Bring your HawkCard and pick up your CTA Ventra Card! This card will give you access to all Chicago Public Transportation buses and trains.
    5 p.m. Bog Opening Night with Balloon Artist John Cassidy (Hermann Hall Bog)
    Come on down to the Bog and enjoy a night of fun! Free bowling, pool, and John Cassidy! Get ready for a fun show of comedy and really weird things with balloons.

    You’ve already heard from your Peer Mentor electronically, but now it’s time to meet as a group. Join your Peer Mentors for some get to know you activities while learning more about our First-Year Experience program.

    Come learn what it means to be part of the diverse community that is IIT. IIT is diverse in many ways, and interactive involvement with its diversity is a unique aspect of the community. Join us and learn how to work together and cover the bases with your future classmates about how past experiences, current working styles and interactions with your fellow students will shape your experience at IIT.

    6:30 p.m. Commuter Student Association Dinner (Hermann Hall - The Bog)
    Are you a commuter student at IIT? Join the Commuter Student Association for dinner and learn what resources this student organization provides its members
    Dusk Outdoor Movie (Farr Field)
    Grab a blanket and join us for movie night! First year students will be voting during orientation sessions... the choice is in their hands! The chosen movie will be announced in August on Facebook. Like the Office of Campus Life to see what is picked!

    This mandatory program for First Year Students introduces participants to the Chicago area by having them volunteer during their first weekend in college. Students, along with their peer mentors, will explore different sites while giving back to our community.
    11:30 a.m. Pancakes with the President (The Commons)
    Bring an appetite and chow down at a pancake feast with IIT President John Anderson and Student Government Association President Akinade Aderele. Dining plans will be active; students and guests without plans are also welcome to join us.
    1 p.m. Open Gym (Keating Sports Center)
    Come check out Keating Sports Center! Everything will be open for you to enjoy! Also, take time to try out a few of our complimentary fitness classes.
    1 p.m. Bog Open (Hermann Hall Bog)
    Come join us in The Bog for free bowling, pool, and cupcake decorating. We want to see your skills!
    3 p.m. Classroom Tours (Man on the Bench Park)
    Join your SGA Senators and take a trip around campus with as they show you around the academic buildings. Be sure to bring your class schedule.
    6 p.m. Taste of the Quad (The Quad)
    Enjoy lively games, entertainment and free food at the kickoff for Fraternity and Sorority Recruitment.

    Start the day out by getting to know our Illinois tech Cross Country team! They will be hosting a run around the Bridgeport area to help you get acquainted with your new neighborhood.
    11 a.m. RED OUT Pep Rally
    Come show your #IITHawkPride! Join us for a great kick-off to the school year with our athletes!
    Noon - 1:15 p.m. Sand Volleyball with Volleyball Team (McCormick Tribune Campus Center South Lawn Volleyball Court)
    The Illinois Tech Volleyball team will be hosting volleyball drills and games at the court! Can you "dig it"?
    Noon - 3:00 pm Men's Soccer Scrimmage
    Cheer on our Men's Soccer team at their first scrimmage of the season!
    1:00 p.m. Dodgeball Tournament (Keating Sports Center)
    Dodgeball. Enough said! Students are encouraged to make teams of 10 and can participate in this single elimination competition. Team sign up will begin at the Resource Fair on Wednesday, August 20 and will end at the Involvement Festival on Friday, August 22.
    1:00 p.m. Introduction to Disc Golf (Siegel Field)
    Join the Department of Psychology for a quick introduction to the game of Disc Golf and then stick around for a game.
    1:00 p.m. Ultimate Frisbee (Gunsaulus Field)
    Get eliminated from Dodgeball or just not feeling that competition? Join us for an Ultimate ULTIMATE Frisbee game!
    3:30 p.m. Resident Advisor vs. Orientation Leader/Peer Mentor Soccer Scrimmage (Stuart Soccer Field)
    Come cheer on your favorite student leaders! It is the absolute show down!
    4:00, 5:30, 7:00, & 8:30 p.m. Lab Training (Various Locations)
    This training class is MANDATORY for any students who will be taking a lab that will be using chemicals and/or other types of scientific equipment. This includes laboratories such as chemistry, physics, biology, and engineering.

    Watch your Hawk E-mail for the session you will need to attend.
