    All incoming students are expected to return to campus on Wednesday, August 14 for Welcome Week activities. Welcome Week runs through Sunday, August 18. Classes begin on Monday, August 19.

    Get ready to move into your new home! Visit Residence & Greek Life for more information.
    11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Welcome BBQ (The Commons)
    Take a break from all the heavy lifting and grab a bite to eat! Dining plans will be active for students who have signed contracts; students and guests without dining plans are welcome to join us as well.
    3 p.m. Angry Birds Competition (MTCC South Lawn)
    You’ve played it on your iPad (or will once you get to IIT!) or on your phone. Take this chance to participate in a life-sized version of Angry Birds, with the opportunity to win some fun prizes!
    5 p.m. Playfair (Farr Field)
    Join us for a fun, high-energy interactive game designed to get you into the Scarlet Hawk spirit! Be sure to grab dinner in the Commons beforehand – meal service starts at 4:30 p.m.
    6 p.m. IIT Assassins Explanation with SGA (Farr Field)
    Don't just play the game, live the game! Experience the thrill of the hunt in this campus wide competition. Prizes sponsored by the SAF.
    9 p.m. Residence Hall Floor Meetings (Various Residence Halls)
    Get to know your neighbors. Every student living in the residence hall should attend this important discussion – you’ll learn about your new community and get connected to some great resources.

    Student Organization Festival (Outside Hermann Hall)
    Join the student organizations of IIT to learn about getting involved on campus.
    1 - 3 p.m. Peer Mentor Meet and Greet (MTCC Various Locations)
    You’ve already heard from your Peer Mentor electronically, but now it’s time to meet as a group. Join your Peer Mentors for some get to know you and get to know IIT activities, while learning more about the FYE program.
    3 p.m. Class Picture (Morton Park)
    Smile and say cheese!
    3:30 -
    5:30 p.m.
    Shopping Shuttles (Wabash and 33rd)
    Chartered bus services will take students to local stores where you can stock up on the basic necessities. Stops include: Target and Best Buy.
    5 - 7 p.m. Book Store Open Late (MTCC Bookstore)
    For commuting students only: come grab your books and a special treat. Then head over to the evening activities!
    7 p.m. Sex Signals (Hermann Hall Auditorium)
    Are you getting the signal? Join your fellow classmates for the real life, funny, sort-of-improv show about sex, dating, relationships and other stuff.
    Dusk Outdoor Movie (Farr Field)
    Grab a blanket and join us for the summer blockbuster, Wreck It, Ralph!

    9 - 11 a.m. First Year Experience Service Event (MTCC Center Court)
    This mandatory program for First Year Students introduces participants to the Chicago area by having them volunteer during their first weekend in college. Students, along with their peer mentors, will explore different sites while giving back to our community.
    11 a.m. -
    1 p.m.
    Pancakes with the Provost (The Commons)
    Bring an appetite and chow down at a pancake feast with IIT Provost Alan Cramb and SGA President Rani Shah. Dining plans will be active; students and guests without plans are also welcome to join us.
    12 -
    2 p.m.
    Service Fair (MTCC Bridge)
    Join your classmates and learn what community-service opportunities are available for IIT students. Come meet representatives from a wide range of Chicago's volunteer organizations, and learn how you can get involved and make a difference!
    2 - 4 p.m. We are IIT (Engineering 1)
    Come learn what it means to be part of the diverse community that is IIT. IIT is diverse in many ways, and interactive involvement with this diversity is a unique aspect of the community. Work together with your future classmates to learn how past experiences, current working styles, and experiences of your fellow students will shape your experience at IIT.
    6 p.m. Taste of the Quad (The Quad)
    Enjoy lively games, entertainment and free food at the kickoff for Fraternity and Sorority Recruitment.

    1 p.m. Classroom Tours (Man on A Bench Park)
    Take a trip around campus with upperclassmen as they show you around the academic buildings. Be sure to bring your class schedule.
    3 - 5 p.m. Intramurals and Recreation Expo (Keating Sports Center)
    Sample some fitness classes, participate in an open gym, and learn all about what Intramurals and Recreation has to offer you.
    4 - 6 p.m. Field Day (Keating Sports Center)
    Work out any last minute, pre-class jitters at field day.
    9 p.m. Residence Hall Floor Meetings (Various Residence Halls)
