Welcome to the Illinois Tech A Cappella Family !
The Illinois Tech A Cappella Organization is comprised of 40 students in three separate groups -- the TechTonics (coed), the X-Chromotones(all-female) and the Crown Joules (all-male). The singers come from many parts of the world to study at the Illinois Institute of Technology, the Illinois College of Optometry and the Vandercook College of Music. The membership is selected by an audition process; it represents over 15 majors (including Aerospace Engineering, Music Education, Architecture and Optometry); and it includes both undergraduate and graduate level students. Alongside the rigorous engineering curriculum that most of the singers endure, they attend mandatory rehearsals twice or more a week. Though under one organization, the three groups operate independently of one another and have performed at venues including St. James Catholic Church, Alumni and Trustee Dinners and Webster Groves High School in St. Louis, MO. They welcome any and all booking inquiries! They can be reached at acappella@iit.edu and be found on the web at www.iit.edu/~acappella.
