Contest Winners - AIPCL 2002 and RobotWars. Prizes Awarded.

The AIPCL Chicagoland Intercollegiate Programming Contest 2002 took place in E1-029 on Saturday, the 27th of April. We are glad to report that it was a great success - five teams came to participate, and prizes were kindly sponsored by Software Technologies Group (STG). Seven non-trivial problems were presented to the participating teams at 12:45pm, and in a few minutes, solutions began coming in. By 5:45 pm, six had been solved. All in all, the teams put commendable effort into solving the problems.

Of notable mention are Team "Indus Warriors" and Team "Code-Crafters" who get the free STG T-shirts which all participants received. Pictures will also be up on the website soon. Our thanks go out to Dr. Gruia Calinescu, who helped train and organize the teams, to STG, who provided us with prizes, to ACM Intl., who provided us with a model, and, of course, to the participants themselves.

Also, R. Ryan Driskel's SCANA2 bot won the RobotWar Contest held on April 6th 2002, in a tournament against Sohan D'souza's MISSCLEO bot and Dr. Francisco Ruiz's FGENIUS bot. He will receive a suave XL-size T-shirt featuring the Robotwar mascot "Dalek" on the front.
